  1. Start by clearing out any unnecessary items from your desk, including any magazines, newspapers, or books. This will make room for the items you’ll need to create your car desk.
  2. Next, gather all of the materials you’ll need to create your car desk: a piece of plywood or wood paneling at least 24 inches wide by 36 inches long, a drill and screws, a saw blade or jigsaw blade, paint or other exterior sealant if desired, and whatever else you might need to make the project look good (a screwdriver, nails, etc.).
