If you’re like most people, your desk is cluttered and crammed with things you don’t need. If you’re looking to declutter your workspace and make it more efficient, consider creating a classic car desk. Here’s how:
- Start by clearing out any unnecessary items from your desk, including any magazines, newspapers, or books. This will make room for the items you’ll need to create your car desk.
- Next, gather all of the materials you’ll need to create your car desk: a piece of plywood or wood paneling at least 24 inches wide by 36 inches long, a drill and screws, a saw blade or jigsaw blade, paint or other exterior sealant if desired, and whatever else you might need to make the project look good (a screwdriver, nails, etc.).
- Assemble the plywood or wood paneling on your work surface so that one end is flush against the wall and the other end is at least 18 inches away from the wall. Then use screws to attach it in place.
- Once the plywood or wood paneling is attached to the wall, start painting or sealing it according to your desired look. Be sure to use plenty of coats of paint or sealant so that it’s completely covered. Once it’s finished drying (usually overnight), remove any excess paint or sealant with a brush or cloth before attaching any hardware (like hooks) to the surface. ..
